The design process included a study of the residence’s past and present to ensure a seamless continuation. The design approach accomplished the clients’ vision and will evolve over time. Materials and construction techniques were chosen to delight the senses while being sensitive to the natural ecosystem by using permeable pavers and water re-use systems. The house now has two patios or “Placitas” in the front and back, both offering the refreshing green of leaves from well established trees in a newly constructed compound, providing a refined background for the owners’ art collection.
